Some go to In-N-Out when they get into the area. Our first stop is Poke Bar. I was excited to revisit recently after moving out of state and hoped to talk with the owner, which I got to do. She assembled our orders, offering advice on what paired best. I had salmon and tuna on rice. My husband had octopus and scallops, which aren't options near us. The crab or seaweed salad is a nice perk. The medium bowls were ample for our healthy appetites. The restaurant is clean; the food is always very fresh. For those who prefer romaine lettuce, the mixed greens offered is a better option (per a friend who works in food safety). They honor the history of Fort Ord with wall murals. The Aloha Spirit (from the staff, food/drinks and Hawaiian music) is contagious. The owner gave us dessert after learning of my birthday dessert mishap elsewhere the day before. Can't wait to return.

Poke bowl was amazing. Service was even better she was patient with my indecisive children. Music was great had my kids singing. Definitely will be coming back soon.

Excellent place to eat fresh sea food. The food is fresh and perfect portions. The flavors of the bowels are tasty, you can actually taste each ingredient. I will be coming here again more frequently. As a military member I appreciate the memorial photos on the wall showing the military history of Monterey.

After an unfortunate experience recently, I feel like I should post another review to commend how fast the owner responded to feedback left here. They were very apologetic and promised to refresh staff training. They also told me they've refunded full amount for that bowl (have yet to check my account), and offered to make up for the unpleasant experience with a free bowl. That night was hectic for me and when my daughter showed me the metal piece she got from her bowl, I immediately turned to yelp. Later on, I saw the link in the receipt which I also utilized. I truly appreciate the immediate response and genuine effort to make this right.

Consistently good fresh ingredients. They don't drown the fish in sauce, you really get that buttery texture and flavor. I got the OG salmon, can't go wrong with it. Just perfect portions and balance of salmon, rice, crab, seaweed, edamame, cucumber and their house sauce + furikake season, no kidding OG classic. There was a beautifully arranged Hawaiian chips in a basket that called my name... the spice kick from it elevated the meal. Don't forget the chips! We came in during a crowd but it was very quick service. From line to seating we were sitting to enjoy our food over nostalgic Hawaiian reggae before we knew it. This place was super clean and there were ample tables to dine at. The staff was warm and welcoming, answered all my questions, even if very few since the menu was pretty straight forward, which I appreciated. Just come! Don't think about it. It's a guiltLESS pleasure.
